To say it simply, Mrs. Kimble has shown me that it’s okay to ask for help. Before we began to meet on a regular basis, I had a narrow perspective of school in which I defined myself by my grades. Through my conversations with Mrs. Kimble, I took time to reflect on all aspects of school and my mental health, as well as make achievable goals for the future. I learned how to verbalize the way I feel, and no matter what, Mrs. Kimble was always there to give me advice or simply listen. Even after graduating high school, we continue to meet virtually. What started as a single meeting with the Dean of Students blossomed into a meaningful relationship in which I’ve gained a lifelong mentor.
